I am a researcher, lecturer, consultant and speaker for digital marketing & communication, CSR & Sustainability and change & leadership.
Since 2018 I am professor for digital brand management & communication and Head of Media Faculty at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart.
Before I changed to university teaching and science, I worked full-time for 20 years in journalism, media production, web and software development, corporate communications and marketing. I initially worked as an editor and author for several well-known publishing houses and media, as editor-in-chief in TV and multimedia production, later as managing director of an industry association, as a PR and management consultant with my own agency and as marketing and communications executive on the company side.
I am a state-certified chemical-technical assistant, state-certified banker and financial and business journalist (Volont.) as well as a certified PR consultant (DAPR) and a certified management consultant (IBWF). After studying History (B.A.), Politics and Literature and Corporate Communications (M.A.), I received my doctorate in Organizational Communication, from the University of Greifswald under Prof. Dr. Stefan Wehmeier, with a thesis on the subject of Internal Communication & Sustainability/CSR.
I am author and editor of several books, studies and articles and for many years I have been an examiner for the PR Consultant and Social Media Manager Examination (PZOK/DAPR) and have lectured at various universities and further education institutions.
Since 2009 I have headed the joint CSR Communication Working Group of the German Public Relations Association (DPRG) and the German Network for Business Ethics (DNWE) and since 2015 I have been the initiator of the German CSR Communication Congress. I am also a member of the B.A.U.M. Science Board of Trustees.
My research and teaching focus in the field of Marketing & Communication is Digital Transformation & Innovation, KI & Big Data, Sustainability & CSR, Change & Leadership.
